The Budapest Exchange is an international conference dedicated to digital ticketing, mobility innovation and public transport digitalisation. The conference brings together transport authorities, public transport operators, payment providers, technology companies, system integrators, consultants, academic institutions and policymakers from across Europe to discuss the future of mobility and apassenger services. The Budapest Exchange builds on the successful legacy of the Budapest Smart Ticketing & Digital Services Forum, first launched in 2015.
Over ten successful editions, the conference established itself as one of Central Europe's recognised professional events dedicated to public transport ticketing and digital services, bringing together senior professionals from transport authorities, operators, payment companies, technology providers and academia across Europe. The programme featured presentations of innovative ticketing projects, discussions on interoperability, standards, digital transformation and emerging mobility services, complemented by live demonstrations and practical case studies.
Today, The Budapest Exchange continues this tradition under a new identity, expanding its scope while preserving the collaborative spirit and practical focus that have characterised the event for more than a decade.
Previous editions
The 2015 Budapest Smart Ticketing & Transport Forum was a 1st of its kind and a great success, as well as the following 8 editions welcoming more than 100 participants each year.
Budapest representatives had the opportunity to present their ticketing projects and give valuable insights on the current Schemes in Hungary. The events also focused on international initiatives, on the need for standards, and on how interoperability is becoming a reality. Senior experts shared their experience and knowledge on these topics to give the attendance a comprehensive overview of the technological opportunities and the best way to exploit them.
Furthermore, the Budapest Forums gave room for live demonstration of equipment.
